Anderson Animal Shelter offers virtual summer camps July 28-31

Anderson Animal Shelter has added some additional topics and another week of virtual summer camp sessions.

These camps are accessible and affordable to all children and teens, with each session costing no more than $10. If you know a child that would like to attend and cannot afford the cost, email c Carrie Frost, humane education manager, at frost@andersonanimalshelter.org.

In “Going Batty” on Thursday, July 30, kids can learn about bats and ways that you can help these often misunderstood members of the local ecosystem. Children, ages 6-12, can sign up for 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

“Pups, Kits and Nestlings. Oh My!” will be offered Tuesday, July 28. Kids will learn about wildlife babies and how to care for them. The one-hour sessions are available for all ages from 2 to 3 p.m.

Also offered will be “Speak Dog!” where kids can learn about canine communication and how to better understand them. It will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 28, for age 6 to 12.

Also on Tuesday, July 28, take a virtual “Behind the Scenes Tour at Fox Valley Wildlife Center” for all ages from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Learn all about cat body language and how cats communicate during “Cat Chat” from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, for ages 6 to 12.

Learn about the fascinating world of frogs and toads and ways you can help in "Frogs and Toads" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, for ages 6 to 12.

Learn all about pollinators and why they are so important in "Pollinators" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, for ages 6 to 12.

In "Somebunny to Love," participants will learn all about pet rabbits and how to care for them from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 31, for ages 6 to 12.
