Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Chi-Yak Adventures offer youth kayak fishing programs

Learn the skills involved in fishing from a watercraft and pick up a few pointers for improving your angling skills, during Youth Kayak Fishing programs.

Get out on local lakes with a professional kayak fishing instructor from Chi-Yak Adventures. Using water crafts specially designed for anglers, you're sure to get into secret spots not reachable from shore. They will provide the pedal kayak, safety equipment and kayaking instruction to get you out on the water safely and catching fish effectively. All you need to bring is a fishing pole and tackle box.

Choose from half-day camps or a full-day workshop - taking one, two, or all sessions. For all sessions, participants must be entering grades 8-12.

• Thursday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.at Oakhurst Forest Preserve, 1680 Fifth Ave., Aurora. Fee is $99 per person.

• Thursday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grunwald Farms Forest Preserve, 02S035 S. Lorang Road., Elburn. Fee is $99 per person.

• Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Big Rock Forest Preserve, 46W072 Jericho Road, Big Rock. Fee is $99 per person.

• Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oakhurst Forest Preserve, 1680 Fifth Ave., Aurora. Fee is $149 per person.
