Hawthorn District 73 Welcomes LeeAnn Taylor as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Business Operations

LeeAnn Taylor will join Hawthorn School District 73 as its new Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Business Operations on July 1. She succeeds Abe Singh, who has taken a position with another school district.

“Ms. Taylor's track record and credentials are outstanding,” said Hawthorn District 73 Superintendent Dr. Peter Hannigan. “During interviews, she stood out due to her sharp skills in strategic planning, problem solving and other proficiencies that will serve us well, especially as we prepare to re-open our buildings for the 2020-2021 school year.”

Ms. Taylor previously served for four years as director of fiscal services and asset management at Barrington Community Unit School District 220, where she supervised business office personnel, including payroll, accounts payable and asset management. She also served for four years as the director of media services for the same district, where she supervised teachers and support staff in the areas of business education, technical education and library media services across all K-12 buildings.

Prior to her work with District 220, she served as the career and technical education department chair for Grayslake High School District 127. She also taught business at a variety of school districts, including District 127, New Trier Township High School District 203, Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 and McHenry Elementary School District 15.

Ms. Taylor received her Chief School Business Official Illinois Licensure from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Illinois State University. Ms. Taylor has two children, Jessica and Brian. Her daughter Jessica attends Valparaiso University and her son Brian is a recent graduate of McHenry East High School.

Hawthorn School District #73 is a preschool through eighth-grade public school district serving approximately 4,200 students. It serves all or portions of the communities of Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Libertyville, Indian Creek and unincorporated areas of Lake County, Illinois.
