Traditionally, teachers line up and wave goodbye to busloads of students at the end of the Hawthorn District 73 school year. But this year, students arrived in cars to wave goodbye to their teachers at the District's first series of "reverse" parades. At each parade, students waved inside their decorated cars, while teachers standing on the sidewalk waved back and cheered. It was the first time teachers and students had seen each other in person in several months. "We Will Miss You," "Have a Great Summer," and "We Love You" were among the heartfelt messages on signs held by both teachers and students.
