All Ages Summer Reading Program from Mount Prospect Public Library

Signs that summer is fast approaching: Warmer weather, blooming flowers, farmers markets and summer reading programs.

An annual tradition since the early 1940s, the Mount Prospect Public Library summer reading program is available this summer at one's fingertips with Beanstack. Beanstack is a convenient, popular online tool to track reading progress and earn rewards.

This year's Spectacular Reading Race runs June 1 through Aug. 31 and has something for all ages to enjoy. Children can rev up their summer and read a little each day on their own or with family. Young readers can earn a grand prize ticket for every 10 days of reading plus a new book for every 30 days read. Teens in grades 6-12 can choose a summer reading mascot - either Yeti or Unicorn - then complete challenges to help their mascot win and earn prizes. Adults can customize their reading challenge and dive into activities using books and library digital services to also earn prizes.

Readers can get started by visiting mppl.org or call the library to register - then it's off to the races.
