Vernon Hills High School Class of 2020 ride in a Drive 'Bye'

The Vernon Hills High School students were able to put some closure on their years at Vernon Hills High School on Saturday, May 23. The students decorated their cars for graduation and the college they will be attending. Some cars held the seniors' entire family, other cars held only a sibling or a parent driving the senior.

They class met in the metra parking lot. The procession began at 11 a.m. The route began at the south end of the Nike Site, where students were greeted by the cougar and the famous "senior" construction wall, completed by Principal Dr. Jon Guillaume. The rest of Nike Parkway and into the school parking lot, faculty held signs, waved, and shouted cheers of "good luck, congrats, and goodbye" to each senior.

The procession continued onto Lakeview Parkway where community members were parked and cheering as well. Near the end of the spectators, the lead car pulled over, as did every single other senior car, to continue the line of cheers and shouts of "Good Luck" and "We did it", a show of unity as the Class of 2020.
