Personalized Bunny Messages from Palatine Park District Hop into inboxes

Palatine Park District (PPD) introduced their first ever Bunny Messages For You event! The event description read, "This year everyone's favorite bunny is practicing social distancing too, but he would like to HOP into your email with a custom message to your loved ones! All you need to do is register the person(s) in your household whose name you want THE Bunny to put in a personal message. Then the Palatine Park District will send your 4x6 personal greeting from The Bunny to your email before Sunday (April 12) morning. The Bunny's time is limited so register early!"

This campaign was created to help spread fun and excitement during times of shelter-in-place. This resulted in over $600 donated to Palatine Park Foundation. Palatine Park District and Palatine Park Foundation are so grateful for the support of the community during this pandemic. Heather Baran, PPD Intern and Bunny Message Co-Creator, said, "it was wonderful to see such a great response from the community. People are embracing new ways to spread kindness while respecting social distancing."

With over 100 messages delivered on Saturday, Communications & Marketing Manager, Brittani Sotzen, was surprised at the success. "I never would've guessed that we could make such a sizable donation to the Foundation during a pandemic. I was thrilled to see the registration numbers climbing! This was all made possible by our community members and we are extremely thankful for their support."

Palatine Park District and Palatine Park Foundation are still actively fundraising, so those impacted economically during this global crisis will still be able to afford recreation opportunities for their families once normalcy returns. With all donations received, Palatine Park Foundation uses this money for scholarships within Palatine Park District resident boundaries. Examples of scholarships include participating in Celtic Soccer, Youth Basketball, Children's Community Chorus, Palatine Gymnastics, or any number of Park District programs and events.

Palatine Park Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. All donations that the Foundation receives are fully tax deductible as charitable contributions. Additional information on Foundation events and opportunities can be found by visiting palatineparkfoundation.org or by contacting JP McNamara, Community Outreach Coordinator, at jpmcnamara@palatineparks.org or 847-496-6246.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable, and affordable parks, programs, and recreational facilities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors while being fiscally responsible stewards of community assets and tax dollars.
