Celebration of Holi coming to Wheaton fairgrounds

"Celebration of Holi - The Festival of Colors" will take center stage Sunday, March 22, in Wheaton when the Federation of Indian Associations-Chicago celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of spring.

The annual Hindu festival originated on the Indian subcontinent and also signifies the blossoming of love while offering a day to meet others, play, laugh, forget and forgive.

This year's celebration begins with cultural programs at 11:30 a.m., appearances by celebrities and dignitaries at 1:30 p.m. and the outdoor celebration of colors at 3:30 p.m., all at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road.

The festival will feature musical entertainment, Indian food and a variety of activities.
