March Brew News from Buffalo Creek Brewing

Buffalo Creek Brewing in historic downtown Long Grove is hosting a variety of special events open to the public this March. The Lake County brewery known for its Bavarian-style beer, taproom and biergarten is "not only a place that's centered around the art of brewing, it's a shared space that connects people and friends" - Owner/Brewmaster Mike Marr.

Here's a look at some of the key happenings this March at Buffalo Creek Brewing:

Green Eggs & Hash St. Patty's Party: Mar 14

Buffalo Creek Brewing pays tribute to the Emerald Isle on Saturday, March 14th with its annual Green Eggs & Hash St. Patty's Party. All eyes will be smiling - Irish and otherwise - when brewery doors open at 10 am with complimentary green eggs and hash and discounted pints of Burning Red Irish Ale (available throughout the day). From 6 to 6:30 pm, The McNulty Irish Dancers will captivate the brewery as they have audiences around the world with the beautiful, powerful dances of Ireland. Then, to top it all off starting at 8 pm, live music by Old Town Underdogs will keep the party jigging till the wee hours!

New Beer Releases: Mar 14

Each month Mike releases original beers in his taproom, from quirky small batches to fan favorites with a spin. March features a new small batch offering in honor of St. Patrick's Day. At precisely 12 noon during the Green Eggs & Hash St. Patty's Party, Buffalo Creek Brewing will roll out "S¢ott 72" - a Dry Irish Stout made with roasted and flaked barley and carbonated with Nitrogen for a creamy St. Pat's treat! Right behind S¢ott 72 is Obligatory IPA, a new creation made from locally sourced ingredients including barley from Wisconsin, yeast from Chicago and hops from Southern Michigan. While Buffalo Creek specializes in German and Belgian style beers, they felt obliged to create their first non-hazy IPA for the local hopheads looking for that something special.

Spring into St. Pat's: Mar 17

Buffalo Creek Brewing honors the St. Patrick's Day holiday and the arrival of spring by waving farewell to the taproom's winter hours and reopening to 7 days a week (for the season). Beginning at 12 noon, Buffalo Creek Brewing welcomes in St. Pat's revelers looking to hoist another pint. Featured beers o' the day include S¢ott 72, Burning Red and the Belgium Strong Ale aged in brandy barrels, BBA 42K. The new taproom hours are as follows: Mon-Thu 4-10pm, Fri 12-11pm, Sat 11-11pm and Sun 12-6pm.

Trivia Night: Mar 4, 11, 18, 25

Every Wednesday the taproom turns into Trivia Night from 7 pm to 9 pm. While sipping on fresh Buffalo Creek beer, guests can participate in two rounds of trivia and the winning team for the evening earns a prize. Menus from neighboring restaurants are available for dinner orders to round out a full night of fun and games.
