Make an appointment to give at blood drive

The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods will be coordinating a blood drive at the Lake Zurich Area Chamber "Everything Expo" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Concorde Banquets, 20922 N. Rand Road, Kildeer.

This will be the fifth blood drive sponsored by the local Rotary Club.

Vitalant, formerly known as LifeSource, serves the Chicago area in providing blood products to the thousands of patients who need them each year. Their blood collection van will be on-site to make it easy and convenient to donate.

Anyone who is interested in donating blood should have a small meal prior to their appointment, bring a state ID, and not have donated blood at any other location in the two months prior to this date.

Appointments are recommended. Donors are encouraged to register at www.Vitalant.org, where more information on becoming a blood donor can be found.

The "Everything Expo" will have more than 70 community vendors from the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce on hand to discuss their businesses and nonprofits.
