Highwood|Oak Terrace Elementary School students gave teachers and administrators an A-plus on their fundraising efforts.

Principal Amy Cengel, Associate Principals Shalagh O'Neill, and Jeremy Wickham, teachers, and support staff from Oak Terrace Elementary School volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, February 12th at the Highwood McDonald's located on Sheridan Road, where they served students and their families in their annual fundraiser.

Assistant Principal Jeremy Wickham, teachers Greg Ward, and Victoria Dolbies shared the duty of wearing an apple pie costume and sang and danced around the restaurant encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie while teachers tended the front counter, served ice cream, and presented delicious food at the drive-thru.

The proceeds from the 204 apple pies sold will help support the Oak Terrace PTO. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the Oak Terrace PTO.

Shalagh O'Neill, Associate Principal, said "Thank you to Chris Prucnal and all the McDonald's employees for hosting this PTO fundraising event. We are grateful to Leslye Whittman for coordinating along with our PTO. All Oak Terrace staff members love participating in this event! We have so much fun while enjoying our time with our students and their families."

"This is our most favorite event of the year!! We come together as a school in one of our favorite spots in the community. All the funds raised here go directly back to Oak Terrace to fund assemblies, after school events, and teacher grants. We thank McDonald's over and over for supporting Oak Terrace." shared PTO Chairperson Leslye Whitman.
