Aleckson Insurance Agency Organizes Children's Book Drive for Bernie's Book Bank
February 7, 2020 (Lake Zurich, Ill.) - Aleckson Insurance Agency is hosting a children's book drive to benefit Bernie's Book Bank from February 3 to March 2. New and gently used children's books (birth-6th grade reading level) can be dropped off at 1155 Ensell Rd Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
According to Reading Literacy in the United States 61% of low-income families have no books at home for their children. Bernie's Book Bank, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing book ownership, is working to combat this statistic by taking books from where they are no longer being used and flooding them into the homes of children who desperately need them.
As the leading provider of books to at-risk Chicagoland children Bernie's Book Bank serves 360,000 children with 12 free books annually. In order to distribute 3.6 million books to children in 2019 they rely on support from organizations like Aleckson Insurance Agency to collect books.
