Highland Park couple to be honored Tuned In event

"Tuned In: The Larry Dobkin Event" will take place Sunday, March 8, at Loft 21 in Lincolnshire from 3-5 p.m. It will include food, beverages and entertainment.

Tuned In benefits Response for Teens, a JCFS Chicago program. Response helps adolescents and young adults ages 12-24 develop skills in communication, decision-making and leadership necessary to deal with life's challenges.

Proceeds will support the counseling, prevention programs, leadership activities and sexual health education for more than 6,000 young people and their families.

This year marks the 13th annual Tuned In event, which will honor Chicago Jewish community leaders and longtime Response for Teens supporters Dr. Marc and Barbara Slutsky.

The event is named in memory of Larry Dobkin, a dedicated advocate, supporter and former board chair of Response for Teens.

It will be co-chaired by Nanci Dobkin and Eve Samson, and will feature entertainment by CircEsteem's Teen Traveling Troupe. CircEsteem's mission is to unite youth from diverse backgrounds in order to help them build self-esteem through the practice and performance of circus arts.

The event will also highlight an extraordinary teen with the 2020 Extraordinary Adolescent Award.

Loft 21 is at 1501 N. Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire
