Learn about options after graduation at Next Steps workshop Jan. 23

Illinois Next Steps will offer a winter workshop from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Fox Valley Christian Church, 40W150 Main St., Batavia.

Do you know your child's goals for adulthood? Are you aware of the types of services available to youth after completing school?

These free workshops provide families specific information to help a young person transition from school to adult life in the community.

These sessions give you the information you will need to help plan your child's future.

Registration must be completed for each workshop you plan to attend.

Register online by selecting the workshop you want to attend or contact Amy Gately at (630) 849-7865 or amy.gately@d303.org.

The topic will be "Planning Ahead: Future Finances and Supports" with guest speakers Kirsten Izatt, attorney and counselor at law at the Estate Planning Law Group, Wheaton; and Teri Bodeman, benefits coordinator at Benefit Boost Inc.

Illinois Next Steps is a parent training and resource network focused on planning for a student's successful transition from school to adult life.
