The kindergarten enrollment and registration process for Westbrook School for Young Learners in Mount Prospect School District 57 will begin on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, with the opening of online pre-enrollment and the scheduling of kindergarten screening appointments. Families will then attend in-person enrollment at Westbrook on Friday, Feb. 14, or Tuesday, Feb. 18. The process will be completed with online registration in the spring. This process is for anyone who lives within District 57 boundaries, has a student of kindergarten age as of the 2020-21 school year and wants to send their student to Westbrook in the fall. In order to enroll in kindergarten, children must be five years old by Sept. 1, 2020.

District 57 kindergarten students attend Westbrook School for Young Learners. Information about District 57 and a link to the school website can be found at www.D57.org. In addition, parents can contact the Westbrook School office at (847) 394-7340 with questions. Below is an outline of the steps to enroll and register a kindergartener for next school year.

1. Online Pre-Enrollment (begins Monday, Jan. 6, 2020)

Online intake will be accessible to parents through a link on the District and Westbrook websites (www.D57.org). Parents need to complete this step before attending in-person enrollment in February. They will provide basic information and schedule a brief kindergarten screening appointment. The screenings, which help inform placement decisions, will be held on Monday, April 6, and Monday, April 13.

2. In-Person Enrollment (Friday, Feb. 16, 2020)

For the second portion of this process, parents will come to Westbrook School, 103 S. Busse Road (door one) on Friday, Feb. 14, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., or Tuesday, Feb. 18, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., to establish residency. Incoming students need not be present. Parents will be required to bring the child's original birth certificate; either a copy of a current lease, a monthly mortgage statement or a current tax bill; and two different current utility bills for two consecutive recent months (total of four bills). Requests for AM or PM kindergarten will be made during in-person enrollment, however, no priority is given to early enrollment. Placement decisions will be shared in the spring.

3. Spring Online Registration

This is the final step of the enrollment and registration process and occurs online in the spring. After steps one and two are complete, parents will receive a link for updating information and paying necessary fees. This includes curricular fees, bus transportation fees and Kids' Corner Childcare fees (if applicable).
