Travel with Santa on Christmas City Express at Fox River Trolley Museum Dec. 20-22

Santa will be returning to the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin for a special railroad journey.

This weekend, passengers on the Fox River Trolley Museum's "Christmas City Express" can enjoy a memorable journey aboard a special train traveling from South Elgin to "The North Pole."

This family oriented, hourlong journey aboard the "Christmas City Express" is a magical trolley ride and storybook experience.

It's about a young girl's adventure aboard a trolley car traveling on Christmas Eve to visit her grandparents in Chicago. But when a sudden storm traps the trolley, everyone on board fears Christmas will be ruined. What the little girl and the conductor do next saves Christmas for everyone and their efforts are rewarded when Santa himself drops in.

Hear the story, meet the elves, sing carols, take part in decorating a Christmas tree, and, of course, visit with Santa and his helpers.

Cookies and hot chocolate will be served to all passengers.

Trolley journeys depart from the Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve, 35W003 Route 31 in South Elgin, for a beautiful ride through the countryside to "The North Pole."

Copies of the hardcover "Christmas City Express" are available for sale. Kids also get to make and take home a special souvenir of their trip.

"Christmas City Express" trolleys operate on Friday to Sunday, Dec. 20-22.

Train capacity is limited, and advance purchase of reserved tickets is highly recommended.

Tickets and schedule information are available online at www.foxtrolley.org/CCE-South-Elgin/.
