Omron hosts high school STEM Day

On November 7th, Omron Automations located in Hoffman Estates hosted a high school student STEM day. Omron welcomed one hundred U-46 students representing all 5 high schools who are enrolled in a pre engineering, Project Lead The Way course to spend the day at their headquarters. "We want to share with the students the technologies and skills they will need to know and use in the manufacturing sector," says Robb Black, president and CEO of Omron Automation Americas. "I think it's a great way for students to learn real-world sensing, vision, motion, safety, robotics technologies and see how they are applied in theory and practice." The students learned about engineering fields, and the many different pathways taken by Omron professionals. Students learned what to expect as an engineering student, how valuable internships are, and the diversity of the engineering field. Students were engaged while they learned about Omron and all the different projects they are involved with and products they create. The day was filled with valuable information to help guide students when they make choices for their futures.
