Marquette Manor Minutemen win 2019 IACS varsity soccer state titles

The Marquette Manor Minutemen soccer team entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed. They defeated the 3-time defending champion Logos Christian Academy (Niles) 3-2 to earn the 14th Illinois Association of Christian Schools title in the program's history.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Minutemen rebounded in the second half with a 20-yard free kick goal by Bryce Ramler (Downers Grove) and an equalizer from Drew Vazquez (Bolingbrook). Tied after 80 minutes, the match went to two 10-minute extra time periods.

With 58 seconds remaining on the clock in the 2nd overtime period, Bryce Ramler headed home the golden goal winner on a corner kick assisted by his twin brother, Braydn Ramler.

Three Minutemen were named to the All-Tournament team: Ryan Raddatz (Bolingbrook), Braydn Ramler (Downers Grove), & the tournament's MVP, Bryce Ramler (Downers Grove). Coaches Jason Puga (MMBA Class of 1996) and Jeff Esposito have now led the Minutemen to two IACS finals appearances in their two years coaching at MMBA.
