Forest Preserve programs help 3- to 5-year-olds explore the natural world

Preschoolers will enjoy a "Leaf-O-Rama" at fall nature programs offered by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

In Nature Tykes, 3-year-olds explore the natural world through a variety of activities with their parent or caregiver. Sessions include stories, nature hikes, songs, games or crafts. Nature Tykes programs run from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Creek Bend Nature Center. Registration is $5 per child, per session.

Little Naturalists is the Forest Preserve District's hourlong program for 4- to 5-year-olds. Little Naturalists' programs run from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Creek Bend Nature Center. Registration is $5 per child, per session. Children will discover the wonders of nature through a variety of activities including songs, hikes, stories, games or crafts. This program is for the young participants. Parents, caregivers and siblings may enjoy the trails of LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, or wait inside the nature center, during the program.

Creek Bend Nature Center is within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.

In January, the theme will be "Owl Eyes," followed by "Ice Is Nice" in February.
