Escape the horrors at Batavia's Haunted Quarry

Was that just the wind blowing in the trees or is someone walking up behind you? Swimming season has ended but that doesn't mean all is quiet at the Quarry. Face your fears and experience all the nightmares that await you at the Haunted Quarry.

Haunted Quarry, at 400 S. Water St., will be open from 7 to 9 pm. Saturdays, Oct. 12 and 19. It is not suitable for kids younger than age 10.

Admission is $10, and cash or credit card will be accepted at the door. Advance ticket purchase of $8 per ticket is available now through Friday, Oct. 11.

If you're interested in volunteering as a tour guide, makeup artist or costumed scare character, contact Bethanne LaFleur at bethannel@bataviaparks.org.

This is a great opportunity for service hours, team building and community groups! All volunteers will receive dinner each night they work. Volunteers ages 15 and older must undergo a background check and complete a volunteer application by Friday, Oct. 4.
