TriCity Family Services aims to bring suicide prevention awareness this month

TriCity Family Services, a trusted partner that offers counseling services and mental health programs for children, teens, families and community members throughout Central Kane County, reminds the public that September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

According to Suicide Prevention Services, one person, on average, commits suicide every 16.2 minutes … and each suicide intimately affects at least six other people.

While suicide prevention is an important topic to address year-round, National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month provides a committed time to share resources and help shed light on this stigmatized topic.

TriCity Family Services' goal is to reach out to those affected by suicide, raising awareness and connecting individuals with the information they need to discuss suicide prevention and treatment.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-TALK or (800) 273-8255.

If you are in need of mental health services and want to schedule a counseling appointment with TriCity Family Services, call (630) 232-1070 or visit www.tricityfamilyservices.org.

TriCity Family Services is located at 1120 Randall Court in Geneva.
