Batavia Mothers' Club collecting winter clothing

Help those in need in the community with donations of new or clean, gently-used winter items: coats, snow pants, snow suits, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and boots in good condition. Items are needed in sizes from infant to adult.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation Coat Drive will run from Friday, Sept. 20, through Friday, Oct. 4.

Drop-off bins will be located throughout Batavia, such as local schools: Alice Gustafson Elementary School, 905 Carlisle Road; H.C. Storm Elementary School, 305 N. Van Nortwick Ave.; Grace McWayne Elementary School, 3501 Hapner Way; Hoover Wood Elementary School, 1640 Wagner Road; JB Nelson Elementary School, 334 William Wood Lane; Louise White Elementary School, 800 N. Prairie St.; Rotolo Middle School, 1501 S. Raddant Road; Batavia High School, 1201 Main St.; and Holy Cross Catholic School, 2300 Main St.

Other containers are located at: Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.; Batavia Park District-Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St.; Batavia Park District's East Side Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St.; Hanson Chiropractic, 1928 W. Wilson St. in Batavia; and Orangetheory Fitness, 2401 Kaneville Road, Geneva.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1934, dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in the Fox Valley area. Each year, the club donates $20,000 to $50,000 to local charities, including the CHIP-IN Batavia and CASA Kane County, whose activities support this mission. The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is open to all mothers in the area who are interested in local philanthropic, service, and community activities.
