The Open House will be filled with activities for all ages, including a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog. The fun will feature Fire Trucks, Ambulances and Special Rescue Vehicles, Firefighter Obstacle Course, Fire Pole Slides, Special Teams Demonstrations, Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Programs, Home Utility Safety and FREE lunch.
The Fire Department Open House is a preview to Fire Prevention week which runs October 6-12. The theme of the 2019 Fire Prevention week campaign is: "Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!" The goal is to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe. In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out.
