Wauconda Garden Club Hosts Wild Bird Rehab Expert September 23

The Wauconda Garden Club's September 23 meeting features Linda Breuer from Barnswallow, a state and federally licensed wild bird rehabilitation and education center in Wauconda. Barnswallow is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, dedicated to rehabilitating injured and orphaned songbirds and raptors with the goal of restoring them to freedom in the wild.

Linda will discuss how birds become injured or orphaned, why bird populations are plummeting, and how we can help. She will bring some birds of prey and talk about Barnswallow's rehab efforts.

Plan now to attend - September 23 at 6:30 PM at the Wauconda Township Office, 505 W. Bonner Road. While admission is free, we ask that you bring items Barnswallow needs to continue their work: paper towels, unscented facial tissues, sandwich- or gallon-sized Ziploc plastic bags, Dawn dishwashing liquid, or a monetary donation. Questions? Call Laurel from the Garden Club at 847-526-8320.
