Fall Fun with HEParks

This fall have a blast with Hoffman Estates Park District (HEParks). There is something for everyone to enjoy this season with our adult, youth and children's activities and special events. View the complete list of fall special events online at HEParks.org/events. Some of the fall special events do require pre-registration; you may enroll for these programs in person at one of HEParks community centers or online at HEParks.org.

Find a new treasure at the free Community Garage Sale, September 7 from 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at SEASCAPE Family Aquatic Center.

This party is for the dogs! Bring your four-legged family members to the Doggie Carnival at Fabbrini Park, September 14, for doggie games, prizes and costume parade. This howling good time runs from 10:00 a.m. through noon. Proof of current rabies vaccination required for entrance to the event. $10.00 per dog. ID# 245908.

Are you a John Hughes fan? Show off your knowledge at the Tribute to John Hughes Trivia Night, Saturday, September 14, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bar Down in Polar Creek Bowl. The fee is $15R/$20NR per person and includes trivia prizes and appetizers. Cash bar. Register individually or bring a team of four on-site. Ages 18+. Register online using ID# 245970 or the day of the event at Bar Down.

BINGO! Bring the entire family out for a fun night of free bingo. Friday night September 20, join HEParks at Triphahn Center from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for a great evening of family fun. The event is free, but pre-registration is appreciated. Each person should bring a movie sized candy for the prize table. ID# 245950.

Have some reel good fun at the annual catch-and-release fishing derby at Fabbrini Park, Saturday, October 5 from 8:00 a.m. through noon. Pre-register using #239085. $5R/$7NR. Ages 2+ No walk-up registration accepted.

Celebrate fall at the free Pumpkin Fest event at Vogelei Park Saturday, October 12 from 11:30 a.m through 2:30 p.m. Enjoy pumpkin decorating, the climbing wall, hayrides, inflatables, live music plus much more!

Spend the weekend golfing at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13. Saturday morning golfers can participate in an 18-hole individual stroke play tournament $65 per player beginning at 10:00 am. Ticket ID# BPCFinal. Sunday morning gather up your friends and play in the Pro AM Four Person Scramble. $500 per team. Ticket # BPCPROAM. New this year - Trunk or Treat! Children can Trick or Treat from car to car at SEASCAPE from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19. Businesses and organizations will decorate their vehicles and provide Halloween Goodies for children. Come in costume; we'll supply the treat bags. The fee is $3 for attendees. Please pre-register online using ID#245918-B. Want to be a vendor at the event? The vendor cost is $25, ID#245918-A.

Preschoolers can come dressed in their Halloween costumes to the Preschool Halloween Bash, October 26 from 10:00-11:30a at the Triphahn Center. Enjoy pumpkin decoration, Halloween games, crafts and snacks. All children attending must pre-register by 10/25. There is no day of event registration. $5R/$6NR ID#245919. Ages 1-7 years.

Swim in our indoor pumpkin patch and choose a pumpkin to decorate at Pumpkin Swim in The Club at Prairie Stone indoor pool. Don't miss this unique Halloween event. Two sessions, 1:00 and 2:00 are available on Saturday, October 26. $15R/$20NR. ID#240719.

Ice skate for free, Sunday, October 27 at Triphahn Center during Pumpkin Skate from 3:00-4:00p Come dressed in your Halloween costume and receive a free public skate admission for use later. Arrive 45 minutes early for skate rental.

Kids climb for your treats at this fun climbing themed Halloween event October 30 at The Club at Prairie Stone. Rock climbing friendly costumes encouraged. Participants can enjoy crafts while waiting their time to climb. Ages 5-13 years, $12R/$15NR. 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m start times.
