Elburn Scouts dish pancakes at Elburn Days

Boy Scout Troop 7 served up its annual Scout pancake breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 17, during the 90th annual Elburn Days.

The fundraiser was staged by about 30 Scouts and leaders who served approximately 300 people.

Troop 7, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary, is chartered by Community Congregational Church in Elburn.

Meetings are currently held at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays at the church, northeast corner of Shannon Street and Route 47 in Elburn. No meetings are held when Kaneland schools are not in session. During the summer, meetings are held every other week.

Boy Scout Troop 7 is part of the Maramech Hill district. The troop participates in districtwide events like the Klondike Derby each winter. The troop also camps out on a monthly basis throughout the year; travels to Napowan summer camp in Wild Rose, Wisconsin each summer; and has regularly sent crews on High Adventure treks to Sea Base in Florida, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and canoe trips in Quetico Boundary Waters area along the Minnesota and Canadian borders.
