Tiger Sharks Swim Team Hosts Fall Tryouts At Birchwood Pool

Palatine Tiger Sharks Swim Team will offer Fall tryouts on Monday, August 12 from 5:00pm-7:00pm and Tuesday, August 13 from 5:00pm-6:00pm at Birchwood Pool, 435 W. Illinois Avenue, Palatine. The multi-ability-level program is offered through Palatine Park District and provides swimmers competitive opportunities and technique development for ages six and up. The Tiger Sharks are a USA Swimming and Illinois Swimming year-round competitive team dedicated to offering high quality, professional coaching.

"We welcome swimmers of all ages and ability levels that are interested in continuing their love for the sport through technique refinement and training development," said Swim Team Coordinator Tony Gallagher. Providing every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success is the goal of Palatine Tiger Sharks.

Open tryouts are offered twice a year - in March and August. Interested swimmers are invited to attend tryouts on August 12 or 13 for an evaluation. Coaches will be on hand to answer questions about the program. Swimmers should bring a swimsuit, goggles, and a great attitude to the tryout. Team coaches will make the final determination for group placement and advancement. Following the tryout, coaches will be able to give families approximate practice times and locations.

Early Bird registration for the short course season will be held on Tuesday, August 20 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Birchwood Gym, 435 West Illinois Avenue, Palatine. Early Bird registration includes a $15 discount and guarantees a t-shirt for each swimmer registered.
