Bike with village leaders Saturday at Palatine Community Bike Ride

Bike with village leaders Saturday, July 20, at the Palatine Community Bike Ride. This family-friendly event is sponsored by the Bike Palatine Club and is open to all community bike riders.

Join Palatine mayor Jim Schwantz, District 15 Superintendent Laurie Heinz, District 211 school board President Robert Lefevre, Jr., Village Manager Reid Ottesen, and other village leaders in the first ever Palatine Community Bike Ride.

The ride celebrates the progress that the village has made in bicycling safety and infrastructure by partnering with the Palatine Park District, the Bike Palatine Club and other entities in our community.

We will ride a 5-6 mile course through village streets highlighting the bike lanes, shared lanes, signage and related infrastructure that has made cycling safer in our village. The ride will end with an ice cream treat for all riders, and a chance to chat about cycling improvements throughout the community with our elected and appointed village leaders.

Bring your bike and wear a helmet.

Register 8:30-9:00 a.m., July 20 near Towne Square, or online at bikepalatine.com.
