America Meditates Event - a group meditation event on July 24th all across the United States including a local event in Arlington Heights, IL at the St Simon Episcopal Church, 717 W Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights from 7.30-9.30 PM. The primary goal of this event is to create awareness of wellness, mental fitness, and peace within the community and in USA.

Twenty years after the Columbine shootings in Colorado, our country continues to be faced with a crisis of gun violence, poor mental health, depression and suicide. We desperately need a shift in our consciousness and we need it NOW.

Our country is facing an epidemic of depression, loneliness and suicide... school violence, mass shootings, hate crimes… they're all increasing. Most of us have suffered or know someone who suffers from these issues. Many studies have underlined the benefits of meditation, including reduced stress, promotes emotional health, increases empathy, improves relationships and more. Plus, dozens of studies have demonstrated positive social, political and economic results correlated to synchronized group meditations, including reduced crime and social violence in the surrounding city. Past research has shown that when even a small percentage of the population meditates simultaneously, the effect radiates out generating a culture of peace that elevates the health and well-being of the entire population

America Meditates (https://americameditates.org/), an initiative of the International Association of Human Values (IAHV), that aims to bring together individuals from across the country to meditate for a culture of peace, well-being, acceptance, and diversity. We are planning to have concurrent events happening all around the country (the largest meditation event in US history) and have our city communities meditating LIVE on July 24th! In addition, from July 22nd-25th, the Art of Living Foundation and its sister organization, the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) are hosting the National Summit on Mental Health and Mental Fitness. https://summit.americameditates.org/. In Denver, CO, the event will provide a common platform for experts and policy makers to explore a variety of multi-disciplinary approaches that incorporate evidence based, holistic, complementary and alternative approaches e.g. Meditation in an attempt to treat the whole person. More about this can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DkmkWgT8ZA.

In this event we are expecting thousands of people from across the country in a large-scale group meditation led live from Denver, Colorado by humanitarian, peace activist, and meditation master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
