Bluesmobiles roll into Mount Prospect for reunion

Fans of the iconic 1980 film "The Blues Brothers" can bask in nostalgia June 21-23 when Mount Prospect's popular Bluesmobile Cruise Night car show will hold its annual Bluesmobile Reunion.

Visitors can check out Bluesmobiles from New Hampshire, Ohio, New Jersey and Chicago. Last year, in a mock car chase, the Mount Prospect police cruisers chased the Bluesmobiles from Mr. Beef & Pizza on Elmhurst Road north to the East Commuter parking lot. This year there will be even more activities and chances to see the vehicles around town.

Scheduled events include:

Friday

7 p.m.: Meet and greet at Station 34 restaurant, 34 S. Main St.

Saturday

• 1:30 p.m.: Lunch at Mr. Beef & Pizza, 1796 S. Elmhurst Road

• 3:30 p.m.: Police car chase along Route 83, heading north to downtown

• 4 to 9 p.m.: Bluesmobile Cruise Night in East Commuter Lot, Northwest Highway and Emerson Street

Sunday

10 a.m.: Parade leaving Hampton Inn Randhurst Village, Mount Prospect, on Route 83, then heading east on I-90 and through Chicago's "Blues Brothers" movie haunts
