Waukegan, IL, June 4, 2019: Consumers Credit Union (CCU; $1.3 Billion, Waukegan, IL) was chartered in June 1930 and is now entering its 90th year serving Members throughout the United States. The historic credit union has a rich heritage of community outreach and involvement and this year, CCU created "Sharing & Caring," a dynamic new program designed specifically to provide a more personal level of outreach and engagement with Members. The spirit of the Sharing & Caring program is to give back to the communities CCU serves by recognizing the acts of kindness demonstrated by those who play an important role in Members' lives.

Sharing & Caring was created by CCU's Marketing Department, spearheaded by Digital Marketing Manager Eric Shriey. "The primary goal of our new program is to acknowledge the special events and people in our Members' communities and in their lives," said Shriey. "Sharing & Caring provides a platform to honor and celebrate these people and events through our social media channels, consistent with the way people communicate with each other in the digital age."

CCU kicked off Sharing & Caring in March by acknowledging "Classroom Heroes," recognizing educators who had a profound impact on Members, followed by a Mother's Day tribute in May. Next on the schedule is a Father's Day promotion in June, followed by a Future Leaders/"dorm room makeover" event in mid-summer, recognizing those heading to college in the fall. Future ideas under consideration are "Worthy Warriors" in conjunction with Veterans Day in November and recognizing "First Responders" in front of the winter holidays in December.

"We anticipate hosting 6 to 8 Sharing & Caring promotions per year, each themed around significant events and/or seasonal activities," continued Shriey. "We also encourage suggestions for future promotions from Members and the general public. Please post them on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. This interactive approach will help us keep the program both fresh and meaningful as it evolves over time."

Winners of Consumers Credit Union's Mother's Day Sharing & Caring promotion can be found on CCU's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/consumerscreditunion.
