WACO book drive runs through May 14

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization's fifth annual Read to Succeed Book Drive runs through Tuesday, May 14.

The book drive is WACO's annual literacy initiative that grew out of the recognition that 34 percent of children entering kindergarten lack the basic skills to learn how to read, and books in the home have an even greater impact for low-income children than those from more affluent families.

New or gently used children's books can be dropped off at any of the following five locations through Tuesday, May 14: Andigo Credit Union locations at 426 W. Army Trail Road, Carol Stream, 1310 N. Meacham Road, Schaumburg, 1501 E. Woodfield Road, Schaumburg, and 990 S. Barrington Road, Streamwood; and the Heartland Bank and Trust Company, 321 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg.
