Nicole C. Glynn of Wheaton talks about why the DuPage Housing Authority is supporting DuPage Habitat for Humanity in the DuPage Human Race ...

Q. What nonprofit organization are you supporting in the DuPage Human Race?

A. This year we are supporting DuPage Habitat for Humanity

Q. What does this organization do for the community?

A. DuPage Habitat for Humanity's mission is to work toward helping people have a decent and affordable place to live.

Q. Why did you choose to support this organization at the DuPage Human Race?

A. Their vision and mission align with our own mission of providing a safe, decent and affordable place to live for the participants of our program. We understand the impact of having a decent place to call home and support other organizations in the community that do the same.

Q. How and why did you become aware of and involved with this organization?

A. We ran in support of them two years ago and their group was just fantastic. Their staff and supporters made the event that much more enjoyable for our group.

Q. What have you learned about yourself as a group through your connection with this organization?

A. As a group, we can come together in support of our community and outside of our agency. Every year we have more employees take the time to participate in this event with our group and we have 65 percent of our staff participating in 2019's run.

Q. How will the organization use the funds raised from the DuPage Human Race?

A. Per their Charity page on the Human Race website, the funds raised will go to serve more people through new and rehab construction, home repairs and neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Q. Have you participated in the DuPage Human Race before?

A. As a group, we have participated for a total of four years. We really enjoy the energy of the event. Organizations and people from all over DuPage come together for support, but mostly we get to be together as a group and learn about other organizations in the community that we serve.
