Early birds pay the lowest price for Schaumburg triathlon, duathlon

Save money with early bird registration for Schaumburg Park District's Splash, Pedal, Dash Triathlon and Dash, Pedal, Dash Duathlon.

Cost is $45 until Sunday, March 31; $55 April 1-June 30 and $65 July 1-25. Registration deadline is July 25.

All participants are required to complete an official race registration form, available at Active.com.

"Early bird online registration is simple and allows athletes to save a significant amount on their registration fee," said Heather Simross, manager of fitness and aquatics. "The earlier you register, the more you save."

Races begin at 6:30 a.m. July 28 at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way, with check-in, chip assignment and pickup, with body marking beginning at 5:15 a.m.

The triathlon consists of a 400-meter pool swim, 12.8-mile bike ride and 5K run. The duathlon consists of a 12.8-mile bike ride sandwiched between two 5K runs. Both races are chip-timed, include one transition area and end at Meineke Recreation Center. Multiple age divisions are available for ages 15 and older.

ANSI approved helmets are required when biking. All participants will receive a technical T-shirt and finisher's medal.

Entries are limited to the first 650 participants to register (triathlon and duathlon combined).
