Local fireplace store gives Christmas cheer to active duty troops

Fireplace and Chimney Authority, a local store, donated a care package to active duty troops.

The items arrived on Christmas Day to the surprise of both the troops and Fireplace and Chimney Authority.

Donations were received at their store and included things like trail mix, beef jerky, and hygiene items.

The goods were donated in partnership with the local community from their Veteran's Day Drive on Nov. 12.

"I was so thrilled to hear that the troops were able to get the items on Christmas Day. It made us all smile knowing that we were able to give them a gift at a time where they are away from their own families to serve our country. Because we are a veteran owned company, this cause is very near to our hearts," said Scott B., general manager at the Elmhurst location.

Fireplace and Chimney Authority has locations in Lisle and Elmhurst. They are best known for being a full-service chimney company offering building, restoration, installation of gas or wood-burning appliances and chimney cleaning. They also sell a large variety of fireplaces, gas logs, and grills that are available for purchase in their showrooms.
