Elgin Academy to offer driver's ed classes to area students

Joyce's Driving School, a state certified driving school owned by Elgin Academy alumni, Joyce Orlowski, Class of 1981 Younger, will offer teen driver education courses and behind-the-wheel training at Elgin Academy beginning Jan. 10.

The after-school, fee-based program will consist of 15 two-hour classroom sessions (one per week) along with individually scheduled appointments for driving practice.

The instructor will be Elgin Academy Upper School teacher Susie Howe.

Classes will begin Jan. 10 but students can sign up for classes up to three weeks into the session.

Future sessions for Summer 2019, and beyond will be planned.

Elgin Academy is located at 350 Park St. in downtown Elgin.
