Streamwood High School teachers don't just make the grade, they lend a helping hand

On Monday, October 29th Streamwood High School held a McTeacher's Night at the McDonald's located at 91 W. Irving Park Rd., Streamwood.

McTeacher's Night gave students and families a chance to have their food served up by their favorite teachers, while also raising money for the schools MTSS program, which stands for Multi-Tiered System of Supports. This is a Response to an Intervention Model that utilizes a three-tiered system designed to help District U-46 schools provide students with high-quality instruction and interventions through academic and behavioral supports.

The event is a fun, community-based fundraiser that invites Streamwood High School students, staff and families to actively support their local school.

Teachers Pusavc and Henderson sold pies while teachers Kowalyszyn, Parciak, and Pinsky were dressed in a pie box.

The High School Cheerleaders were also present to show their support and helped contribute to this fun night of fundraising.

The event was made possible by the Bear Family Restaurants, and local franchise Owner-Operator, Marc Bear, and the amazing staff at the Streamwood McDonald's, who assisted throughout the night.

Marc Bear was proud to have all the Streamwood High School families into his McDonald's on Irving Park Rd., and he is proud to be a part of this great community.

Mr. Bear donated a portion of the McTeacher's Night proceeds to Streamwood High School and also donated a case of pies that were sold during this event for donations.
