Palatine Township Seeks Donors for Thanksgiving Basket Program

Palatine Township's yearly Thanksgiving Basket Program provides traditional holiday meals for Thanksgiving to in-need Township families, and donors are currently being sought to participate in the program.

Donors are asked to provide a variety of non-perishable food items, which can be packaged in a laundry basket, along with a $25 gift card to go toward the purchase of a turkey for the program's recipients. Sign-up to become a donor is now available online, along with a list of the requested food items, which can be found here: https://palatinetownship-il.gov/thanksgiving-baskets/.

Donations must be dropped off at Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine, no later than Friday, November 16, 2018. Please note: The Township will be closed on Monday, November 12 in observance of Veterans Day.

"It is truly uplifting to see how generous our residents can be, especially over the holidays when financial struggles can be magnified," said Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson. "All of our donors-past, present and future-should know they have a considerable impact on the families and individuals that we serve through this program."

For individuals interested in assisting individuals and families in-need, but don't have time to shop, gift cards donations will also be accepted More information can be found at the following link: https://palatinetownship-il.gov/people-serving-people/needy-family-fund/.

Volunteers are also needed to help with sorting and distribution of the Thanksgiving Baskets. For questions on how to get involved, call 847-358-6700.
