Rock for your heart on October 18

To the members of rock cover band Suburban Legend, the word "beat" has two very important meanings. One, the beat of the music: they've been playing together for four years, honoring their favorite classic rock bands during their performances. Second, the beat of a heart: four members of the band are healthcare professionals: three are physicians and one is a cardiac nurse.

Suburban Legend will combine their two passions in a concert benefitting the American Heart Association on Thursday, October 18 at 210 Restaurant in Highwood. The band's two cardiologists, NorthShore University HealthSystem's Dr. Phil Krause and Dr. Jose Nazari, are dedicated to improving heart health in the community through education. For them, it's important that the public know how to prevent heart disease by living a healthy lifestyle, and also that they know the signs and symptoms of a heart attack.

The October 18 concert is Suburban Legend's third annual benefit concert for the American Heart Association. Tickets are $12.50 if purchased by October 17, and $15 at the door.
