Try wellness center's amenities for free at open house

The community is invited to try Prairie Stone Sports & Wellness Center in Hoffman Estates for free from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.

Activities will include 30-minute fitness class demos, personal training, and nutrition educational sessions, pickleball, indoor climbing wall, door prizes, wellness vendors and more.

Current members can bring a guest to work out for free. Child care will be available. Local restaurant Bibibop will be on-site offering samples of its Asian cuisine.

The list of class demos available includes kids yoga, kickboxing, yoga, muscle pump, High-Intensity Interval Training 360, and spinning. Personal trainers will be on hand to give 15-minute educational sessions on BOSU ball exercises, benefits of HIIT, and exercises to improve posture. The club will offer enrollment specials and tours of the facility.

"We have a really fun event planned for the community. We hope everyone will come out and see our wonderful facility. We have such a dedicated and passionate staff who really care about the health and well-being of our members," General Manager Christine Tusa said.

Since 2000, PSSWC has been owned and operated by the Hoffman Estates Park District and is the official practice facility of the Windy City Bulls, the NBA Development League (D-League) Affiliate of the Chicago Bulls.

This state-of-the-art facility features equipment including strength training and free weights; more than 150 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, two group fitness studios with more than 50 classes per week; 25-yard lap pool, zero-depth activity pool, whirlpool and steam rooms.

It also features an indoor track, three gyms, an indoor climbing wall, complimentary child care, Pilates training, indoor tennis courts, and more.
