Learn 'How to Recycle Right' at Kane County Recycles event Oct. 10

You are invited to attend a free presentation on "How to Recycle Right" on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva.

Jennifer Jarland, Kane County's Recycling Coordinator, will be offering salient advice on reigning in the wish-cycling frenzy and recycling right!

Space is limited. Please RSVP to recycle@countyofkane.org before Monday, Oct. 8.

Get the lowdown on what you should be recycling at home and at work. Jarland will cover what can and cannot go in your curbside recycling cart, the 2018 sea change in the recycling industry, and the statewide work being done on reducing contamination in recycling streams.

She also will share top recycling tips that answer the most commonly asked questions.

Learn about where you can recycle other items, beyond what you can put in your curbside cart, at drop-off locations throughout Kane County: Styrofoam, electronics, books, hazardous waste, batteries, paint, and more.

There will also be plenty of time for you to have your own questions answered and for you to chat with Jennifer about your efforts and successes in waste minimization!

The program will be 2 to 3 p.m. in the ground-floor auditorium of the government center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), Geneva.

This program is free and refreshments will be served. For questions, call (630) 208-3841 or visit www.countyofkane.org/recycling.
