Document Shredding Event on September 8 Hosted by Palatine Township, Lions Club

A free document shredding event will be available to Palatine Township residents from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.

This event is sponsored through a partnership between Palatine Township and the Palatine Lions Club.

"We invite all township residents to get rid of documents that are no longer needed," said Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson. "This is our second document shredding opportunity this year. These events are very popular with residents and an excellent way to utilize township resources."

A limit of two "bankers" boxes or paper bags that hold the equivalent amount of paper per vehicle are allowed (no plastic bags). Participants must stay in their vehicles for safety reasons, and volunteers will assist with unloading the boxes or bags of documents to be shredded.

Motorists can only enter the Palatine Township parking lot from westbound Illinois Street, just east of Quentin Road. Vehicles dropping off documents must stay to the right side of Illinois Street, so as not to obstruct any general traffic before entering the Township parking lot.

Shredding services are by Accurate Document Destruction, Inc., and documents will be destroyed through secure, crosscut shredding.

For information, call (847) 358-6700 or visit palatinetownship-il.gov/document-destruction.
