Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago hosts Gujarati Lok Dayro

The Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago, a senior association in Carol Stream, organized Gujarti Lok Dayro at Rana Regan Community Center in Carol Stream on Friday, Aug. 3. More than 300 members as well as invited guests attended this glorious evening.

This Gujarati musical evening called "Lok Dayro" featured famous male artist from Saurashtra area of Gujarat State. Mr. Bhikhudan Gadhvi Jr. first prayed God and after that he presented beautiful devotional songs which were well received by all members. Mr. Sukhdev Dhameliya, a well-known Gujarati comedian, also presented sahitya comedy jokes.

Mrs. Asha Thakor, a talented female singer from Anand city of Gujarat state, also presented different kinds of Gujarati songs and everyone enjoyed it. This program was stated with prayer and ended at midnight with a Gujarati song "Kasumbino Rang," written and composed by famous poet Jhaverchand Meghani and everyone enjoyed it.

At the end of the program, Mr. Haribhai Patel, president of this senior association, said in his address that this musical program would not be possible without the help of the executive committee members and that he was very much thankful to all of them. He specifically congratulated Parasotam Pandya, Madhubhai Patel, Pravin Patel, Ashwin Bodywalla, Amrit Patel, Shirish Shah and Chandu Dave to create a new stage within a period of two days and making necessary arrangements for this program. He also thanked other members especially Jayanti Oza, Indubhai Vaghani, Ramsing Parmar, Chandrvadan Chudasmaand and Madarsang Chavda for distribution of tickets and made this event a successful one. Mr. Patel also thanked all sponsors who supported this event and Mr. Tariq for handling audio system in a professional manner.

Mr. Alpesh Patel of skyvision was a program coordinator and he arranged this program in coordination with this senior association.

The next program will held on Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Rana Regan community hall. Mr. Jagdish Trivedi will present three hours comedy show for seniors. All are requested to participate in this event.
