Come to a Bat Watch Aug. 4 or 7

Submitted by Forest Preserve District of Kane County

You're invited on a Bat Watch with Forest Preserve District naturalists. The fun begins at dusk Saturday, Aug. 4 and Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Join naturalists from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County for "Bat Watch" nature programs. We'll look for bats using a special "bat detector." The device uses echolocation to identify a bat's location by their reflected sounds. They also will play games and learn about bat ecology during these fun, all-ages programs.

"Bat Watch" programs are scheduled Saturday, Aug. 4, at Hampshire Forest Preserve, 44W880 Allen Road, Hampshire, and Tuesday, Aug. 7, at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles. Each program will be 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.

Advance registration is required for these free programs. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
