Western Kane County Republicans to host barbecue Aug. 5

The Western Kane County Republican Organization will hold its annual BBQ fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Lions Park, 500 Filmore St. in Elburn.

This family-friendly event features picnic-style fare and the opportunity to meet face to face with candidates and elected officials.

 

The keynote speaker will be Darlene Senger, candidate for Illinois State Comptroller. Many additional state, county, and local candidates will attend.

The ticket price of $20 includes your choice of either a hamburger, chicken breast sandwich, bratwurst, or hot dog, plus side items, coffee, lemonade or iced tea, and an Italian ice dessert. Discounts are available for couples and families.

Lions Park has indoor seating, a playground and a sports area. An elephant bounce house will be available for children.

Sponsorships are available from $50 to $500 for businesses, candidates and supporters.

The western townships include Hampshire, Rutland, Burlington, Plato, Virgil, Kaneville, Blackberry, Big Rock and Sugar Grove.
