Fred Schramm chosen as honorary chair of CASA Kane County's 15th annual Golf for a Child Invitational

Fred Schramm of Schramm Construction has been selected by CASA Kane County as this year's honorary chair to be recognized at the 15th annual Golf for a Child Invitational on Monday, Aug. 27. He and his wife, Annette, are longtime St. Charles residents and have been supporting the organization since 2004.

Fred joined the board of directors in 2014 and believes in giving back to his community. He has applied this principal to a number of donations made to local organizations from Schramm Construction Corporation which he started in 1993. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Fred saw a unique niche open in the Chicago area market - a commercial/industrial contractor that could complete large projects while providing businesses with the personal service they deserve.

In addition, the couple are the founding members of the Hearten Haiti Project, a nonprofit organization created to support several major Haitian organizations in their efforts to serve the people of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

"It was an easy decision when selecting Fred as this year's Honorary Chairman. He is an example of a community member that goes above and beyond in support of our most vulnerable youth in our community," said Gloria Kelley, CASA's executive director.

CASA Kane County's 15th annual Golf for a Child Invitational will be held Monday, Aug. 27, at the Royal Fox and St. Charles Country Clubs in St. Charles.

The annual event attracts nearly 300 golfers from throughout the Chicago area to raise funds for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program in Kane County that serves more than 600 children who have been abused or neglected annually.

This year, the organization is proud to honor Fred Schramm, owner of Schramm Construction in St. Charles, for his long-standing and generous support of the organization.

Tickets to play in the golf outing are almost sold out, but a few foursomes still remain. To register for the event, visit www.casakanecounty.org or call the CASA Kane County Advancement office at (630) 232-4484.

If you cannot play in this year's outing, but would like to contribute in other ways, you can purchase a hole sponsorship sign, program book advertisement, raffle ticket or a chance to win a trip to the 2019 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia!

More information can be found on CASA's website as well.

For 30 years, CASA Kane County has been recruiting, training and supervising community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) and the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for children in court due to abuse, neglect or private guardianship. The CASA volunteer acts as the eyes and ears of the judge to help make the best decision for a safe, caring and permanent home for each child.

The nonprofit organization serves 100 percent of all abuse/neglect and private guardianship cases in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Kane County and has been doing this since 2002.

CASA Kane County's 19 staff and 225 active CASA/GAL volunteers advocate for more than 600 children annually!
