Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

Director Joseph Malmquist conducts the Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra with guest artist Walter Preucil in a performance of Dvorak's Cello Concerto. Preucil, a cellist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago orchestra, has also played with The Grant Park Festival Orchestra, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra and the Chicago Philharmonic. The performance was featured in the orchestra's spring concert, held at Schaumburg's Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts on Sunday, May 13. Other works included Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol, along with the overture from Candide and Selections from West Side Story -- both pieces by Leonard Bernstein, played in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
