Kane Co. Clerk's Office encourages couples planning June weddings to apply for marriage licenses

As the wedding season approaches, Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham encourages those who are planning to get married in June to come to the Kane County Clerk's Office, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building B in Geneva, to apply for marriage or civil union licenses.

Cunningham said, "June is always a popular time for weddings and I want to encourage those planning to get married to come to the Clerk's Office today to apply for a marriage license. Now is the time to apply for late spring and summer weddings."

The license becomes effective on the next calendar day after it is issued.

Applicants must present valid identification with proof of age. A detailed explanation about acceptable forms of ID can be found at kanecountyclerk.org/Records/Marriage/ValidID_license.aspx. Applicants must pay a $32 fee (cash only).
