Waubonsee publishes annual literary magazine

Submitted by Waubonsee Community College

The Waubonsee Community College English Department and the college's Creative Writing Club will release the 2018 edition of "Horizons," Waubonsee's literary magazine.

The event will be marked with a release party from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, in the Student Center on the Sugar Grove campus, off Route 47 in Sugar Grove.

"Horizons" is a student-led magazine which provides student writers and artists an opportunity to have their work published, as well as learn the process of producing a professional publication.

Students serve as editors-in-chief, managing editors, layout and design editors, copy editors and on the editorial committee. Members of the Waubonsee faculty and staff serve as advisers for the project.

The release party is open to the public and is free. The event will feature some remarks about the publication, free cake, free copies of the magazine and readings from the publication.
