Harper Professor Discusses WWII History at PH Library

Please join Michael J. Harkins, professor of History and department chairman of History at William Rainey Harper College, Palatine, Illinois as he leads us in a discussion of the book The Allies Strike Back, 1941 - 1945 by James Holland. Professor Harkins teaches a number of courses in American History. Currently he teaches courses covering WW I and WW II. His research interests in WW I focus on General Pershing and the American Expeditionary Force. His WW II research interests focus on U.S. Escape and Evasions Reports of downed American air crews in Europe 1943-44. The book, Allies Strike Back, 1941 -1945, covers the rise of Germany. It is the second volume in a World War II history trilogy describing the American entry into the war, the victory in North Africa by Rommel after several major setbacks and the escalation of bombing in Germany. Books can be picked up at the Prospect Heights Public Library's Circulation Desk. This discussion will be held Wednesday, April 18 at 7 pm. No registration is necessary.
